good morning everybody welcome to this new video of the chief social officer channel and today i’m going to speak about the difference between a social media marketing manager and a community manager so welcome back guys to this new video and this is very important question but the difference between different roles into social media marketing and the first area is community manager the community major is a person whose responsibilities are to manage the community to know by a hard to community to keep her finger on the pulse of the community every day to listen what customers prospects are saying on your properties but as well on the entire social space and landscape and then to interact and to engage with this person so let’s say if you have a company page on Twitter and Facebook this person is going to be the one getting all the messages and making sure every person pinging you should it be for a very positive positive feedback or for negative feedback this person must make sure that everybody gets an answer and to me this is a very key element to be successful on social you need to consider all your customers if they are happy or not everybody deserves an answer in life on social and even in real life so this is really the role of a community manager responsibilities and to me as well I would include in that the reporting about the community to growth in followers the interaction the engagement the response rates to people and make sure that when you hire a community measure the person is able to produce all of that because I have seen many people you know pretending to be community measures but they were not even able to produce a single report out of the platform where it’s really an out of the box feature secondly the demand difference is you know there is a job title called social media marketer and this is pretty different the social media marketing person is much more someone that is going to I would sail manage the campaigns to generate businesses and it’s much more a job comparable to people who are driving google compounds google adwords company it’s it’s quite similar in the thinking approach in the way you execute it as well however it’s it’s very separated it’s very different from google but if you think about it the community matter on one side is engaging with the communities is the guy responsible of your audiences and secondly on the other side you have social media marketing guy who is here to boost your content to make sure that your content is proposed to the right people because as you know today there is a rule you need to pay to play so you can produce the best content on Twitter and Facebook and Linked.In however your content is limited to a certain number of people thanks to their algorithm and if you want to really play big to enjoy the beauty of social you need to pay and this is the role of the social media marketing people and the extended question to that is can I find someone who is both a community manager and as well who is great at social media marketing I would say this happens and it’s not very often so always make sure that you include that in the job description make sure that it’s clearly stated from scratch and always check the knowledge and the skills of the subbase person because these are very different things so be aware of that so thanks a lot for this question that i got from Monica thanks for asking and if you want to leave a comment that’s just here below the video and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and see you very soon here guys bye. .
